Rearrange Address and Place Parts Mapping Options

It is advisable to use File > Backup/Restore > Small Backup before running this plugin just in case the rearrangements are unsatisfactory!

Introduction

The Input Column Part to Output Column Part mapping on the left defines which current column parts to copy to new column parts.
The greyed-out parts are determined by the Tools > Work with Data > Addresses/Places > Columns… setting.
Click on any Input Column Part drop-down list to choose which column part must be copied to the associated Output Column Part. Non-default settings are highlighted in colour.

The Select Rearrangement Options on the right offer shortcuts for popular mappings, and other useful features explained in Addresses and Places below.
The buttons simply offer a convenient way to re-arrange the mapping on the left, which can then be further adjusted as described above.

Use the Input Filter tab to apply mappings to a subset of fields.

Use RESTORE PLUGIN DEFAULT SETTINGS to set the installation defaults for all GUI window mappings, options, positions, and sizes.

Use PERFORM REARRANGEMENT of Parts to apply the options in the order they appear in the dialogue, and produce a Result Set of changes.
If results are unsatisfactory, use Edit > Undo Plugin Updates… before closing FH.

See the Frequently Asked Questions for further details.

Note that even if neither mapping nor other changes are selected, the Address and Place fields are tidied. Each comma separator will always be followed by a space, and any trailing blank column parts will be removed. Any new line separator will be replaced with a comma.

Mapping Options tab

Addresses

The Copy all … and Delete all … buttons are self-explanatory.

The Shift Addresses right/left buttons move column parts left or right between the part numbers defined on the right. At one end <blank> parts are inserted, whilst at the other, parts are deleted.

The Add [[privacy]] … option adds brackets around Address parts that duplicate Place parts so they become hidden in Reports.

The Delete [[privacy]] … option removes the brackets around Address parts so they appear in Reports.

The Erase Address parts .. option deletes Address parts that duplicate Place parts.

The Right justify Address parts … option moves column parts right to eliminate empty parts prior to the nominated column.

The Left justify Address parts … option moves column parts left to eliminate empty parts on the left.

Places

The Copy all … and Delete all … buttons are self-explanatory.

The Shift all Places right/left buttons move column parts left or right between the part numbers defined on the right. At one end <blank> parts are inserted, whilst at the other, parts are deleted.

The Erase Place parts .. option deletes Place parts that duplicate Address parts.

The Right justify all Place parts … option moves column parts right to eliminate empty parts prior to the nominated column.

The Left justify all Place parts … option moves column parts left to eliminate empty parts on the left.
