Export Gedcom File (Str) Standard GEDCOM Release 5.5.1

Introduction

FH custom tags and GEDCOM 5.5 tags are converted to GEDCOM 5.5.1 standard tags by the Rules described below. Otherwise, they are simply deleted, including the GEDCOM header optional FILE name tag. Synthesised Custom Events, Note Records and Source Records have an optional prefix Ω character (ZZ in ANSI/ISO mode or for FH V5) to differentiate them from original records. See the Extra Options tab Insert Synthetic Prefix setting.

The Character Set Encoding defaults to UTF-8 with all Unicode characters supported.

The [[private]] Text Option defaults to Include private text but remove the [[ ]].

The Rich Text Formatting defaults to Remove rich text codes leaving just plain text.

(Str+) Full Data Export Details

All the (Std) Standard GEDCOM Release 5.5 rules for (Std+) Full Data mode apply except as defined below.

Header Record (HEAD)

★ GEDCOM Version (VERS)
The GEDCOM VERSion tag value is changed to 5.5.1.

Individual & Family Records (INDI, FAM)

★ Phonetic Name, Romanised Name (FONE, ROMN)
Any Phonetic Name or Romanised Name is retained unaltered.

★ Custom Attribute (_ATTR)
See Extra Options tab Custom Attribute 1 _ATTR:
Each Individual custom _ATTRibute tag is converted to a FACT tag and retains any associated value.
Each Family custom _ATTRibute tag is converted to an EVEN tag, with any associated value in its Note with an Attribute Value: label.

★ Fact E-mail, Website (_EMAIL, _WEB)

Each custom tag is converted to either the EMAIL or WWW tag.

Source Records & Templates (SOUR, _SRCT)

★ 2nd Repository (REPO)
Any 2nd Repository link is retained unaltered.

Repository & Submitter Records (REPO, SUBM)

★ Record E-mail, Website (_EMAIL, _WEB)

Each custom tag is converted to either the EMAIL or WWW tag.

Media Records (OBJE)

Media records are converted to Part Frames via Local Media Objects by default and are handled as follows.

★ Media Format (FORM)

The FORMat tag is moved to be subsidiary to the FILE tag in all cases.

★ Media Title (TITL)
The TITLe tag is moved to be subsidiary to the FILE tag, except in local Local Media Objects.

Place Records (_PLAC)

★ Place Record (_PLAC, STAN, STAT, MAP, LATI, LONG)
See Extra Options tab Place Record 0 @P%d+@: option for Gedcom 5.5.1 Lat/Long.
Each Place record MAP, LATI & LONG plot structure is copied to every associated Place field.
Apart from that, the Place records are removed entirely.

(Str-) Brief Data Export Details

All the (Std) Standard GEDCOM Release 5.5 rules for (Std-) Brief Data mode apply, except as defined above, unless overridden below.

Media Records (OBJE)

Media records are removed entirely by default, otherwise they are handled as above.
