Map Life Facts Leaflet Maps Mode

Introduction

This Leaflet Library style of map is free and does not need an API Key. It can be used in conjunction with the Geocoding and Mapping features to present the plugin map pane and produce webpage map files that do not disclose the current Geocoder API Key. Only one map file needs to be updated for all files to be modified.

Details

Leaflet Maps have the following features:

  • Click + Zoom in and – Zoom out top left to alter the scale as shown on the bottom left margin.
  • Drag anywhere on the background to pan the map.
  • The icon top right offers a choice of maps and whichever is chosen becomes the default:
    • Open Street Map provided by https://www.openstreetmap.org/
    • Mapbox Satellite provided by https://www.mapbox.com/maps/satellite/
    • Google Streets static version of Google Maps in default Map streets mode.
    • Google Terrain static version of Google Maps in Map with Terrain mode.
    • Google Satellite static version of Google Maps in Satellite with Labels mode.
  • Hover the cursor over any Marker to show a tooltip Caption of the location name.
  • Click on any Marker to show a Popup box of the fact & location details.
  • Drag & drop any Marker to temporarily separate coincident Markers or reveal details.
  • On the Geocode Location Plots tab drag & drop the Marker to adjust its Defined Latitude & Longitude values.
  • On the Geocode Location Plots tab for an un-plotted Location, double-left-click on the map to create a new Marker.
